The Arts The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is made up of a 15-member board of directors appointed by the Hernando County Commission. The purpose of the Council is to sponsor and encourage opportunities for Florida residents to participate in artistic and cultural activities. The Hernando Symphony and Orchestra is a 70 member volunteer orchestra. The Symphony's repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music as well as operatic works and Broadway show tunes. Most concerts are preformed at the Performing Arts Center or Springstead Theater. The Hernando Hills High-Lites is a ladies barbershop chorus, singing four- part harmony for public and private performances. The Stage West Community Playhouse is Hernando County's oldest non-profit theater group that performs quality dramas, musicals, and comedies. For the season performance schedule call 683.5113. The Show Palace Dinner Theater entertains the dinner and show audience with a variety of performances, throughout the year including comedy musicals and more. The Spring Hill Art League promotes various forms of art in the county including an annual Arts & Crafts Show in October, and workshops for professional and amateur artists.
